The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel has moved one step closer to becoming the most sustainable conference venue in Scotland after receiving the prestigious ECOsmart Gold accreditation.

One of only two Scottish venues awarded the Gold accreditation, the 4-star venue was commended for their responsible business practices, innovative sustainability solutions and ethical values.

The Gold accreditation was achieved after successfully showcasing their dedication to sustainability and environmental stewardship, and commitment to building a greener future in line with the Scottish Government’s target to become net zero by 2045.

With a history of providing their delegates and guests with sustainable options, including paperless meetings and hybrid events, the hotel is well known for their commitment to social responsibility.

ECOSmart Gold is the latest recognition of the hotel’s commitment to social responsibility and sustainability.

They also hold Visit Scotland Green Tourism Business Scheme Gold, International Association of Conference Centres GreenStar Scheme and the Venues of Excellence Committed to Sustainability Awards.

The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel team joined colleagues from across NHS Golden Jubilee on Wednesday to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the NHS.

The multi-award winning 4-Star Hotel in Clydebank is a leading conference Centre in Scotland, Aim Secure accredited and the only Scottish member of the UK’s Venues of Excellence and the International Association of Conference Centres.

The Hotel has played a vital role as part of the NHS, providing patients and their loved ones from across Scotland with accommodation when they need it most, with more than 194,000 complimentary stays since 2007.

The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel are celebrating a landmark achievement, receiving their AA 4-star accreditation for the 20th year in a row.

The NHS owned hotel and conference venue located on the banks of the River Clyde continued their 2 decades of exceptional service for guests, impressing the AA inspectors with its stylish and modern fixtures.

Located just 20 minutes from Glasgow City Centre, the Hotel offers guests a relaxing base to explore the surrounding areas, including the picturesque Scottish countryside and Loch Lomond.

Staff at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel left a lasting impression on the Inspector, with comments made about their exceptional level of service and hospitality from start to finish.

The Hotel’s spacious and comfortable public areas were also at the forefront of the accreditation, with the hotel restaurant ‘BBar and Grill’ awarded the AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence.

The Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel is delighted to announce that they are taking part in the warm places initiative to support the local community.

The 4 star hotel, based in West Dunbartonshire, has signed up for the initiative to allow anyone in need of warmth and community to go to a dedicated warm space to share with others.

Denis Flanagan, Commercial and Logistics Director for the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel commented: “As an NHS owned facility and a local employer, we felt it was the right thing to do to offer further support in any way we can.

“With the recent bitter cold temperatures, along with the well documented rise in energy bills, by giving people access to a warm place and a sense of community when they need it most, we can hopefully help those in need in our local area this holiday season.”

NHS Golden Jubilee staff have a track record of supporting West Dunbartonshire initiatives and charities. This year this has included staff from across the organisation have come together and generously donated over £430 to the West Dunbartonshire Community Foodshare.

Many staff have also been gathering donations and contributing gifts to the Glasgow Spirit of Christmas Campaign. This includes toys, books, toiletries, clothing and more, all of which will be gifted to children across the local community this Christmas.

Several gift donations have also been made to the Clyde 1 Mission Christmas for Cash for Kids, an initiative that helps children living in poverty celebrate Christmas with food, heating and small gifts.
