Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel Director Appointed European Chair of Global Conference Association

Denis Flanagan, Commercial and Logistic Director at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel, has been appointed European Chair of the International Association of Conference Centres (IACC), the world’s leading professional  body representing the top 1% of conference and meeting venues globally.
IACC brings together purpose-built conference venues from across Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific, setting internationally recognised standards for quality, innovation and sustainability.

Membership is awarded only to venues that meet rigorous criteria and demonstrate excellence across operations and shaping the future of the meetings industry.

Denis has served on the IACC European Board since January 2020 and held the role of Vice Chair during 2024 and 2025. His appointment as European Chair reflects his extensive leadership across the hospitality and meetings sector, as well as his long-standing contribution to the organisation.

In his new role, he will also join the IACC Global Board, helping to shape strategic direction at an international level.

Denis’ leadership position within IACC will enhance visibility of the hotel internationally positioning it alongside world-leading venues and opening new opportunities to attract global organisations, industry leaders and high-profile events to Scotland.

As Chair, Denis will focus on driving innovation across the meetings and events sector, expanding educational and professional development opportunities for members, and strengthening collaboration between IACC venues across Europe and globally.

“IACC has played a significant role in my own professional development, and I look forward to building on the strong foundations already in place.”

His new role will also support greater knowledge sharing and best practice across the IACC community. This will enable the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel Jubilee to both contribute to and benefit from global insight on leadership, sustainability and innovation, reinforcing its position as a high-quality conference and events destination while delivering wider benefits for the NHS.
