To be credited with helping achieve a little sporting success in Scotland has made us all very proud here at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel.

Last year we hosted the Scottish Football Association’s (SFA) Under-17 and Under-19 squads for their Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) European Championship qualifying matches, as well as other teams from Portugal, Russia, Poland, Belarus and Andorra.

There were many nationalities, customs, culture and diets to cater for as we were the base for the teams as they relaxed and prepared for their tournament matches, with our teams providing everything from feeding the hungry players to washing their socks!

Working closely with each team’s coaches, our chefs created healthy and nutritious meals and sourced special ingredients to tie in with special diets and training plans.

Our conference rooms were transformed into physiotherapy and kit rooms with housekeeping providing a full laundry and dry cleaning service. The players were able to use our fully equipped gym, extensive use of our 15-metre swimming pool, whirlpool and sauna to help relax and recover.

Following their stay, SFA youth coach and former Scottish international player, Billy Stark, wrote to thank us: “This is a short note on behalf of the staff and players of the Scotland Under-19 National Team to express our gratitude for the first class service delivered by all at the Hotel.

“The staff were particularly friendly and helpful in addressing all our needs throughout our stay, which is greatly appreciated. Rest assured, our positive experience will be relayed throughout the Scottish Football Association for future events.

“The hotel has played an integral part in helping us qualify.”

We were delighted that Billy took the time to send us this amazing feedback, showing how vital it is for sports people to have the right preparation before important fixtures or events.

All of the facilities here at the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel work well to offer sports teams a comfortable base to get their heads in the game, as well as to unwind post-match.

Our out-of-town location of our venue also offers the following benefits:

  • Team buses can manoeuvre easily in our two large car parks.
  • We have everything you need right here on site, so you won’t lose any players and there’s no excuses for players being late back from lunch.
  • Open green spaces and fresh air promote inspirational thinking and facilitate outdoor activities and pursuits, encouraging a healthy, active, experience. Guests can make use of our own conference garden and clearly marked walking routes along the nearby river.
  • Close proximity to many of Glasgow’s sporting venues such as Scotstoun Stadium and Braehead Arena.

We are now looking forward to welcoming more top international sporting teams for both major women’s and men’s events in March and May 2020.

We can also use our social media pages to highlight the tournaments or events with hashtags and details to encourage fans to get along and support their teams on match days – all part of our amazing service and we are proud to serve!
