As Glasgow prepares to welcome a diverse range of visitors in 2018, the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel continues to provide excellent hospitality to all our guests.
As a Disability Confident Leader and Top 100 Stonewall employer, we also ensure this same level of service for everyone who comes to visit us. In addition to our great accessible space and facilities throughout the Hotel, our team has the knowledge and understanding of specific guest needs and requirements.
Recent improvements to our already fantastic facilities include the addition of more than 40 shower only en-suites in our bedrooms. Guest feedback encouraged us to consider this layout as it can be easier for some guests with limited mobility.
All of our rooms can be modified for our vision impaired guests. Installing a large button phone, repositioning bedroom furniture and increasing colour contrasts on each surface and room contour has improved our guests’ experience too. We find that allocating specific bedrooms to suit our individual guests needs has helped them relax more easily and get more out of their stay with us.
We also have ample free car parking, level access and door thresholds, hard floor surfaces, seating throughout all areas, vision and hearing impaired guest aids, along with guest specific safety and evacuation procedures.
Coming to a venue for the first time can make some guests anxious. That is why we can provide, on request, a full storyboard of your stay. This would include information on transport links, arrival to the site and building, moving around public areas, as well as tips and help taking you to our dining, conference and bedroom facilities.
Our team members come to us with their own observations and improvement suggestions including adjustable seating and dining heights, adjustable lighting and language used when assessing our guests’ requirements of assistance. First-hand experience of accessible requirements has definitely given us a greater understanding of our guests’ needs.
Our summary of facilities will meet most expectations, our wealth of knowledge and experience will provide not just great services, but excellent hospitality for all.
