Recently, we were accredited as a fully assessed Healthcare Venue, joining an elite group of facilities which are dedicated to meeting the needs of the healthcare industry. Since then, we have been delighted to welcome a variety of medical events to the Conference Hotel, most recently the Idopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) UK event.
About the Company
IIH is a neurological condition which is defined by increased intracranial pressure (ICP) around the brain. IIH UK are an organisation who are dedicated to representing individuals who are suffering from the condition, campaigning for improvements for the lives of patients and families, as well as raising public awareness of the impact this can have on people all across the country.
About the event
IIH UK came to the Golden Jubilee to host their 2017 Annual General Meeting and Patient Conference. This gathered 49 patients and their families from across the country to hear the latest developments and share feedback on what they have achieved over the past 12 months.
What were their needs?
The main requirements for the event were:
• Disabled access to all areas, including conference, meetings and dining rooms.
• Accessible bedrooms with wet room.
• Natural lighting in the conference room.
• Meeting spaces with a clear, unobstructed, view of presenters.
How we delivered on these requirements?
To accommodate this, we offered the use of the new Inspiration Space, a bright, open and flexible space which backs onto the Conference Gardens. This ensured ease of access for everyone in attendance.
We also worked with the organisers to ensure that all of the accessible bedrooms were allocated, and that, where necessary, family rooms were provided.
Delegates also made use of the Pool facilities, available in the Centre for Health and Wellbeing.

"With many of our delegates too ill to work, price was a key point for us, and by choosing the Golden Jubilee Conference Hotel for the event, we were able to find a package that suited our needs. This meant that our delegates were able to spend the entire weekend with other patients. The team at the Hotel was extremely efficient, nothing was too much trouble for them. This was particularly true of their on-site technical support, who set up our monitors and equipment on the morning of the conference."
