Case Study: Emergency Medical Retrieval Service Conference 2017

We were delighted to recently host the 7th Annual Emergency Medical Retrieval Service (EMRS) Conference.

Scotland's EMRS provides critical care and safe transfer to definitive treatment for patients in remote healthcare locations and accident scenes. They respond by helicopter, plane or fast response vehicle, aiming to provide equity of access to life saving care, irrespective of the patient's location.


What did they say?

Anne Cadman, Conference Organiser, from EMRS, commented on the event, saying: "It was very important to us that everything we needed was on one site. The Golden Jubilee has a great atmosphere and their staff are enthusiastic and friendly. From the reception, to the catering staff, they were all fantastic. It is also nice to see the same faces of staff year on year. Overall, I was very pleased with the event, and I'm pleased to say that we will be re-booking next year with more attendees than ever before."


About the Event

This was one of our largest events, with 220 delegates attending each day and 110 staying overnight in single and twin accommodation.

The event brought together doctors and medical professionals from around the world, including USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland and Scandinavia and featured presentations and plenary sessions across a wide variety of topics, as well as poster presentations and case studies.


What were their needs?

The main requirements for the event were:
• A conference room suitable for 180 people.
• Break out rooms.
• Catering area with space for 14 exhibitors.
• Overnight accommodation.
• Sufficient parking facilities.
• Restaurant and dining facilities.
It was also essential for the client that all of these facilities were available in the one venue.


How we delivered their requirements

The majority of the conference took place within our newly refurbished Arcoona Room as well as the Auditorium and Waterhouse Restaurant.

Our Arcoona room was used for coffee and networking breaks throughout the day, providing space for the 14 exhibitors in attendance. This gave delegates the opportunity to share best practice, socialise and exchange information on products and innovations.

The fixed seating Auditorium was used to host the main sessions throughout the day, including presentations, plenary sessions and speeches from high profile individuals, including the key note speaker.

Lunch was served in the Waterhouse with ample space to relax, sit down, and network with professionals from around the UK and beyond.

In the evening, dinner was a black tie event to mark the special occasion of the 7th Anniversary.
